BEC Custom Database Reporting

Below is the latest updates and reporting modifications.


Note: You should first read these instructions before downloading. You will need to have Excel 2007 or above to use the included files.

To download the following files:

  1. Point your mouse and Right click on either the File Type Icon or the link in the field name
  2. Once you do this you are prompted to either Open, Save or Cancel the file download as shown in the graphic below.
  3. Choose Save and put the location to your desktop or another suitable location.


Which files are included here

Below are two instruction guides

    1) Durkin toolkit guide - This is the general guide on the operation and use of the toolkit used to build the BEC plugin. You should use this in conjunction with

    2) BEC Reporting guide - This guide covers the specifics of the BEC plugin and the reporting steps to do this manually until an automatic module can be completed.

Updated List Views

In the process of updating the user guide we have modified a number of the list views. These have been uploaded here so you can update your system. These files will need to be copied to the correct directory where your database is stored for them to work correctly.

Downloading and updating the Layout views

    Step 1. Download the following files to a suitable location.

    Step 2. Close ACT! and open Windows Explorer to the location of your database. If you are not sure of the location. In ACT! go to Help About and then choose database information button. In here you will find a screen similar to below except that it will show your database.

    Step 3. In this location you will find a folder named {your database name}-database files

    Step 4. Inside this location you will find a folder Durkin

    Step 5. Inside this location you will find a folder Tools.

    Step 6. Copy the downloaded files to this folder.

Auto Reporting Software

The following application will allow the reporting via a single report. this program needs to be loaded to a computer where you can then run the report.

A couple of special notes on this application:

  1. You cannot modify the report as you can in the above manual method.
  2. If your database has been modified with different field names then there may need to be a custom report modified for your database and this will charged depending on the modifications.
  3. Users with Windows 7 or Vista machines may need to disable UAC for this application to work correctly.
